A very underrated comedy which I laugh out loud at despite having seen it a few times.
Is on Netflix and currently on Gold also.

Yeah, was a decent watch from what I remember of it, Denzil, and nicely observed. The problem with it - and the same goes for Little Britain, and a lot of other sketch shows of that kind - is that it can get very "samey", even if the characters are hilarious and/or well observed.

I watched a few eps of Little Britain on iPlayer over Christmas and Andy getting out of his wheelchair several times an epsiode, or thingy thinking up ways to seduce Anthony Head, just wasn't as funny with the passing of time. Plain

I watched this last night - 2 episodes. I didn't even smile, not once.
Isn't it funny (no pun intended) that we all find so many different shows/comics/films funny or not.

I've seen a few episodes but I thought it was a fairly lukewarm comedy series and not a programme I'd ever care to see again personally. I really did like Little Britain a lot though and in comparison, to me anyway, it was far more entertaining by some distance.

I think the replies on here explain why there was only 1 series, not everyone's cup of tea.

I thought Little Britain was OK, in small doses.
Years ago, D1ck Emery was unmissable must-watch hilarious TV. I saw an old episode of his show a few weeks ago, again,... Not a titter, just unfunny.
So time seems to change us too.

I think you need to know the characters with alot of comedies these days,I like Tommy (Burger joint worker) and Peter and Judith (holiday from hell).

To me in recent years 'Peep Show' stands head and shoulders above any other comedy series and that includes 'The Office' which I think is a brilliant series so that is very high praise indeed. I also like 'Spaced' a lot but Peep Show just does it for me.

I've watched Peep Show on demand right through a few times it got better after series 1 but the last series wasn't up to much imo.
The Office is just too cringeworthy for me (cliche Office comment) but I get what he was trying to do as those who've worked in offices in the past can relate to the characters.

Fair enough Denzil, comedy is a very subjective topic of course. The last two stand up comedians I've seen live were Micky Flanagan at the O2 and Dara Ó Briain at the Hammersmith Apollo. Both times I walked out at the interval and went to the bar for the second half wondering to myself exactly what is was that people were laughing at. The latter in particular was completely dire beyond words.

I never tire of watching The Vital Spark. Classic comedy. Roddy McMillan was a terrific character actor. He was in lots of tv dramas playing a variety of characters. He played the cop in the cult London detective series Hazel, a much underrated tv series.

I used to be a fairly regular live comedy goer but like you I was often wondering what I was doing there at times but was tied to the nights out through family.
I saw a young Kevin Bridges for a tenner which was refreshing at the time (before he made it) and have seen Chris Ramsay a fair few times but he is overrated.
The worst and most overrated comedian is by far Paddy McGuinness (might have been around 2005/06) who rode Peter Kay's back to fame and fortune shocking is being kind.

My reply was to slippy.

I think 'Come fly with me' was a brilliant send up of those fly on the wall airport documentaries. It makes me smile when I see a real documentary because I'm instantly reminded of the Lucas/Walliams characters. Like someone said earlier, very well observed comedy.
