Hopefully when the little chap finally succumbs the staff and other patients will get some peace. The assembled masses will be able to go back to the bingo halls, tattoo parlours and amusement arcades from whence they came.

The Twitter/FB side of this lot is really a bizarre sight to behold

and now hijacked by weird Americans, both mega religious and anti-NHS(socialised medicine) nuts too.

sad for the family, been awfully advised by Christian Legal Centre and now acting even more irrationally as a result of it.

A High Court judge has slammed a legal adviser to the family of sick toddler Alfie Evans, calling him a "fanatical and deluded young man".

Mr Justice Hayden hit out at law student Pavel Stroilov, who is linked to the pro-life Christian Legal Centre (CLC), at a three-hour hearing in Manchester yesterday.

He criticised Mr Stroilov's "malign hand" and told the Family Division of the High Court that some of his legal advice had come close to contempt of court.

The court heard the adviser had been party to Alfie's dad, Tom Evans, lodging a private prosecution of Alder Hey Hospital doctors, allegedly for murder.

Poor little sod has and will have, no life or quality of life at all.

The mass of people who have nothing to do with it and nothing else to do should all be arrested for disturbing the peace - especially outside a hospital.
You can completely understand the parents clinging on to any hope and thinking that the doctors are wrong and that Alfie will somehow get better.
But not the swarms of hoodies hanging round the cause. Not the balloons everywhere.

The FB and twitter stuff you mention, aaron, speaks volumes about the people addicted to FB and Twitter.

It's been hard to watch images of Alfie.
I agree totally with SF on this.
Obviously the decision to withdraw life support has been taken out of their hands but I feel this is right.
What sort of existence would this be. I say existence as it would be no life.
The only other thing I'd add is that I hate these pro-life groups with a vengeance.
Not for being anti abortionists but for ignoring suffering and refusing to acknowledge cases such as this where life would be meaningless.

agree with all comments on here - the behaviour of the protesters is shameful - there's alot of great things about the city of liverpool, but these protests show the city at its worst

alfie's parents "he's improving", parents are very selfish, poor child has no quaity of life, a  vegatable eventually, his brian tissue is degrading fast, let the child die with diginty, they are still young enough to have more children.

judge should say enough is enough and block all further legal attempts by the family and by the way how on earth do they pay for all this legal stuff, surely not legal aid

Really hard case. While the decision of the courts is certainly right, who among us wouldn't fight till our last breath if we thought there was a scintilla of a chance that our kid could survive? I think the parents have no doubt been poorly advised, probably by certain groups who don't have their or Alfie's best interests at heart but I must say I feel a lot of admiration for how they're coping particularly given they're so young themselves.

As for the "army", those pr!cks setting up bouncy castles, drinking beer, blocking traffic, abusing doctors and nurses, and traumatising sick kids and they're families - then they're just scum.

Apart from the usual whiny Scouse grief-junkies, and the idiot chavs who "support" the kid, there are the god-bothering pieces of cr@p who dip their oar in, like around the Marie Stopes clinic in Ealing where they harass women attending legitimately.

Good call over needing a good wash!

if Alfie was an American child, he would be either dying much sooner and leaving his parents with a 6 figure medical bill at worst or be taken advantage of by doctors who would be willing to continue treatment that does nothing to improve his state until they ran out of money - either theirs or likely crowd funded

The toleration of such rancid behaviour outside Alder Hey only serves further to beg the question: What are the Police for?

Nurses and doctors being harassed while going about their business of saving and prolonging lives is a sad sight. I've read a couple of pieces on facebook from other parents who have children undergoing treatment there now, and some of the things described are almost unbelievable.

I thought the NHS was stretched to breaking point, doctors working too hard, nurses hard to train and recruit, waiting lists huge and finance required to fund it keeps going up?  Silly me must have got that bit wrong.

The NHS must have so much resources that they can spend so much of these limited resources on a little lad with no quality of life at all who can't be saved.

Much better to use those resources on people who can be saved I'd have thought.
