Still good news I was expecting something like £1000 + costs and a ban.

I was judging by the norms for celebs and footballer types so 86K is a big jump up.

He should have got a 6 month custodial, that's what I'd have given him were I the judge.

Thought he'd get off the ban by saying it would affect his charity work. Lots of celebs use that one.

Surely being sent back to work for ITV with Dec is punishment enough.

The Leopard cheers for posting the penalty calculator I didn't even know it existed.
I had a conversation about the Ant scenario with a guy who'd been done for drink driving (despite only taking the keys from his pocket) and he never mentioned this.

Was he next to car door?

Said on the radio it was two thirds of his weekly salary.  20 months reduced to 14 if he takes a driving course.

He got caught with his car keys in his hand with the car door open when he got a tap on the shoulder from a policeman.
He got a 3 year ban,100 hours community service and had to take his test again yet didn't do anything like McPartlin he never even got into his car but was a known drinker who got grassed up.

So the intent was there as he admitted to me.

In hindsight his sentence is comparatively harsh imo.

Surely the biggest crime is that the talentless tw*t earns 130k a week.

A buddy of mine once drove into town for a takeaway curry, unexpectedly met some mates and ended up getting pissed. At one in the morning, realising he was well over the limit and no money for a taxi, went back to his car and fell asleep on the back seat. A policeman knocked on the window, woke him up and demanded a breathalyser test.

Can't remember the ban or fine, but this always struck me as deeply unfair. If he'd been a reckless fool and driven home he would probably gotten away with it.

I presume he did by the way he told the story and at the time he was drinking far too much by his own admission,he's a teetotaller now and we got on to the subject because I said I hadn't been on the pop for a year and Ant had been caught a couple of days prior.
