Our names for the days of the week have Germanic and Nordic origins and aren't too different from what our Anglo-Saxon forebears called them. They have nothing to do with the Greek language.
On a side note, in Portuguese the names for Monday - Friday translate as second-day, third-day, fourth-day etc. |
