It was only recently established she was. Which just confirms they make it up as they go along, same with Doctor Who, always been a man, but a quick conversation on a park bench with his companion, along with another high ranking politician (on his home planet) turning woman and he can be a woman. Despite 50 years of history and canon saying he can't. The BBC had complaints but they knocked them away, stating its "been established he can be male or female". They don't care, they will change history to suit their agenda.
