What a load of pretentious, over edited, disjointed rubbish comprising of the usual series of pastiche scenes, melodramatic music and god awful acting.

One hour long Miss Marples or Poroits was/is much more entertaining.

I quite enjoyed it but I get what you're saying.

Not perfect....but not bad

Father did it....as he seems least likely...at a guess.

Never trust a crime drama judge who uses far more negatives than are needed, can't spell Poirot and even resorts to "Miss Marples" ffs. Will he be back after episode 2Wink

I saw about 5/10 minutes and by the time the unlikely cleavaged woman said 'this is my house now' I'd had enough and went out.

I gave up before the end but might take another look on iplayer. I did get the distinct impression the writer and production team started on the basis that we are all deeply familiar with the story so there was no need for them to explain it at the beginning. Tbf I was very tired so some clues might have passed me by.

I enjoyed it even though it was pretentious and over melodramatic.  Tbh that's kind of why I like it, a bit of period cliche escapism.  Not familiar with the story, but I'm assuming the main twist is that Jack is not dead (so badly injured his face was barely recognisable being the clue).  The timing of the wedding and the man with the alibi, all being part of the plot to find out who did do it (as everyone who could have done it is present) and establish Jack's innocence.  Think the dad might be involved in the plot to find the real killer.

I'm watching the last part of this. It's certainly been an ordeal.

Not sure what I'm watching, it jumps about all over the place.

It's Christmas Eve now. This should have been shown over Christmas, I might have got into it more if it had been.

The last 20 minutes was very good. I believe it's different from the ending in the book.

Watching part 2 now....missed it last week somehow

I hope they make another one for next Christmas.

I think they've done all the Dicken's books

It requires a huge leap in imagination to get from the book to this tv drama. I’m a fan of Agatha Christie but this production was pretentious rubbish .
