ambidextriousness can be worse than being left handed
that's for scientific reasons by the way not witchcraft |
|
By:
can be a sign, that not everything is quite right
|

surprising really you would think that it would be the opposite and that it is something pretty good
but modern science proves that our ancestors may have been right |

Left footed, right handed. Left eye dominant so had to learn to play snooker and darts left-handed. Not much good at either.

Some horses like to lead with their left leg, others with their right.
Punters put great store in this, especially if a horse has only won going one way around a track. That's until they win going the opposite way, which always makes me laugh. |
|
By:
if athletes ran anti-clockwise around a running track its likely some left footers would improve, and some right footers decline.
snail shells can be left or right handed, and they struggle to interbreed there was a left handed lobster featured in our newspapers a few years back which was supposed to be rare until others kept turning up to prove it wasnt |

By:
sorry..... if they ran clockwise

Mostly right-handed but can write a little with the left. I use either for billiards. I prefer my left foot but was ok with my right as we had to train our weaker foot in the school team. The teacher who ran it would rant and rave about how Julian Dicks shouldn't be a professional because he is very one-footed and hence we did a lot of practice with our weaker feet. To this day I laugh when a player misses a shooting opportunity because they've tried to move the ball over to their preferred foot. It really wouldn't take much for them to become competent with both feet.

I'm right handed/footed. Wherever I have to use two hands though I become left handed (cricket, golf, using stihl saws).
|
|
By:
Right arm bowler, left hand bat, two footed. I would play golf left-handed if it wasn't such a pointless pursuit.
|
|
By:
Right handed for golf and cricket but I can play squash, tennis and snooker/pool with both hands. Playing squash and switching hands always does the oppositions head in, it's a huge advantage.

left handed and footed signing in. me only siblings - 2 brothers also left handed, but not left footed .

In ye olden days (but not that old, last century) left handers used to be punished in school if they used their left hand to write with and were forced to use their right. Latin word for left hand is "sinister", which was then linked to meaning evil/malicious etc.
I totally believe it. I'd be all for putting them all in Wicker men and but the trendy PC snowflakes won't stand for it! ![]() ![]() |

They tried to force me to use my right hand to write with in the 80s- what sort of f@ckwit does that?

80s? That's quite recent, I'm surprised at that. Where were you educated, by one of Father Ted's punishment nuns in Ireland?!

Irish people I know who went through their schooling system gave me the impression it was generally strict and religious and run by the Catholic church, so I was joking, but was a bit suspicious! I didn't know until I saw a documentary the other day that U2 met at an experimental non demoninational school in Dublin which was (and probably still is) rare.
In fact .. : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denominational_education_in_the_Republic_of_Ireland#Church_schools "In the Republic of Ireland, the vast majority of the country's primary schools are owned or managed (or both) by religious organisations.[1] In 2007, and of the national total of 3,279 schools, 3039 (92.7%) were controlled by the Catholic Church, 183 (5.6%) were controlled by the Church of Ireland, 0.7% were controlled by other religious organisations while 1% were controlled by organisations which were not affiliated with any particular religion" "You'll be using your right hand or it's the fiery pit of hell for ye, Hank O'Hill!" ![]() ![]() |
