As long as there are enough people willing to defend their country by invading countries thousands of miles away without asking any questions, we'll have more wars. Its the biggest money-making venture you can ever have. Well supported by sheep who fall for patriotism every single time. I remember how I once called the UK troops sheep for signing up to fight any war their leaders would send them to, no matter how ridiculous it might be. It p1sses them off big time with the typical replies of 'they don't decide where to wage wars, government sends them' or 'say this to their face' or 'you wouldn't be saying this without them defending your freedom' and what not. Of course I wouldn't be saying this to their face, but that doesn't make them the heroes they are 'always' made out to be.

One member on this forum had his father serve in the Vietnam war. And apparently he thought it was an honor when his father would actually have been in jail for not joining the war

The weapons industry has made trillions out of wars. So has the banking elite who have financed all sides in the wars since Napoleonic times. Of course, they wouldn't want to manipulate governments into starting wars just so that they can make huge amounts of money would they?

Of course they wouldn't. After all, the politicians go through all the lying and promises just to get a chance to lead their countries to prosperity.

That's one way to think of it. But I think the irish were smart. If England was willing to do the dirty work for them, why get involved? And if britain failed, there's no reason to think a few good irish soldiers in their ranks would have made it a success. Either way, they didn't need to get involved.

If you are calling people scum for not joining you in a war, you don't deserve them in the first place. Not that it would have made a big difference if the Irish were with you

The Americans and the UK Governments met up in the States and come up with this bogus story about Iraqi having W.M.D and they were preparing to use them,which we all know now was a whopping great lie to take us to war

I didn't mind Muslims when they were directing their completely justified angst against Israel. More power to them. But now they've started unleashing on the rest of us I'm not too happy at all!!! We reap what politicians sow. So I'm all for extreme measures to combat Islamist extremists. But I'm not happy with the politicians that got us involved in this sh1tfight.
