Cheltenham bound on Monday and for 1st time I'm taking car to Cheltenham from Glasgow, just looking at my route on maps on phone it's taking me m6 -m5, what I'm wondering is should I take the m6 toll road then get back onto m5 after that, I know it's more miles but will I be moving quicker....

(Google maps doesn't think so but does offer the M1 as an alternative depending when you will be travelling. Try the racing or Cheltenham forums.)

wouldn't bother with the toll road if you are aiming for the M5. However, just to warn you they did have major road works at the start of the M5 until you get past junction 2, so it might be worth checking to see if you can find a route where you join the M5 further down.
