just cut them off

8000 calls in a year and an ambulance deployed 1500 times for just 5 people

meanwhile people with medial emergencies wait 5 hours for an ambulance while those with mostly self-inflicted issues get an ambulance every day

They should be cut off. Tough if they have a real emergency.

Absolutely correct treetop, my mate was a paramedic at King's College Hospital for 7 years and she loved the job but had to leave as every single thing she did was under the utmost scrutiny from 'the management' and they made her life hell. It wasn't even that well paid, I think she was on about £30K which after paying the bills it didn't leave much for anything else living in London.

Just make it 0898. At least when they talk dirty to the staff, they'll get what they paid for.

Sadly the Tip of the Iceberg many mentally Ill and sick Old people living alone in Big Cities Sad any voice can be a comfort
when you have no one ,Lot of the staff at the centers know the callers well , on most occasions an ambulance will not be sent.

just like almost everything in this country, the health system is f******d

"Frequent callers" are classed as those who call at least five times in a month, or at least 12 times in three months, and they cost the health service almost £19m a year.

wow.

Ambulances actually sent to these five, is average in the region of one per day.

The true situation will be much worse than this, as if you could extrapolate the number of genuine calls from the total of calls,
including these worst offenders, there will be very many more, making up the remainder of multiple offenders!
