Go the game.
Youll enjoy it far more and if you went the christening youd be bored shtlss and you wont get any credit for it. Do something nice the weekend after by way of apology and everyones a winner |
|
By:
Cheers bud, totally agree. Doubt i'd be able to get a ticket as we'll take thousands if a chance of promotion
but i'd like to be somewhere to join in the fun. No bloke needs a random 1 year olds christening to attend ffs |

If you've already said no to her (and given her the reason presumably?), where are you on a doghouse scale of 1 to 10?
![]() It all depends on the caste system in play, tbh. If the missus isn't actually related to the goddaughter (ergo you're not) then I agree with nailedon - no-one (other than possibly the missus) is going to give your no-show a second thought in all honesty, and 1.01 you'll be better served watching your team play for a chance of promo. |

god daughter should be at game, i hope shes getting some good villa inspired middle names
to make up for missing the game. |

Are you in any way religious?
If not, is she? Either way, it's a meaningless ridiculous ceremony, to which you don't have to subscribe! Nobody will give a toss, as to whether you are there, or not! Be firm, and assertive, and look out for my thread on this very subject, to be aired shortly....... ![]() |

If they didn't choose u as God father fook Em ,go to the game

An absolute no brainer, go to the match. Personally I probably wouldn't go even if my team weren't playing let alone what could be an absolutely crucial game for the Villa. I really hope Aston Villa go up as I have a good few mates that are Villa mad and if they do go up and Palace avoid the drop then I'll have quite a few visitors at mine for the game at Selhurst!

What would you do? Grow a pair.
(Mind you I'm just back from a beer.) |

Where did the wife come from? You were posting pics of your girlfriend not that long ago.

By:
Only after I'd posted.

IF she's your misses and it's her goddaughter are you not her godfather as you are godparents? Or does it not work that way (trying to remember myself, I'm useless at this stuff)
|
|
By:
No, you can have godparents that are no relation to the child but equally you can have godparents that are related but are not a couple. Godparents are singular, if you see what I mean. If your wife is a godparent to a child then it doesn't mean that you are too.

Us Scots invented Godparents.

Cheers for the replies(well most of them) not married bud just call the gf the misses. Just wanted to see other peoples views on this.
I'm not going and on the 1 100 scale i think shes already forgotten about it |

By:
A very solid win away to Sunderland tonight for Villa, the play offs looks an absolute given but it's going to take a run of great results to be guaranteed promotion and slip ups from Cardiff. I hope you do it prepared83.

Cheers bud, still to play cardiff wolves and derby at home so still a live chance although fulham flying as well

I have three teams in my world that I always look for first for the results, first is Palace of course, then Newcastle and finally the Villains.

capt f you've been stalking my freds for years and one comment from me makes me the bad guy?
i'm always polite on here and up for betting chats etc. Yes slippy sound like a secret villa fan to me bud benteke still hated by the palace fans? |

Another massive win/performance yesterday. This could well go to the wire now.

Who organises a do during the football season ???? Fxxking lack of consideration for normal people
![]() |
|
By:
sorry bud but family is more important than your football team
either find a way to get the christening moved to the morning so you can go to the game as well or miss the game and do the family function |

Hope Villa's next promotion charge doesn't clash with her 21st

Grown men prioritising watching other men paid thousands of quid a week kicking a ball about in shorts over family is fairly childish and a bit sad really unless the OP is early 20s. The villa players wont give a toss if u were there or not and dont know u from adam so whats it matter.. that said I had the football bug when I was younger but priorities change. Any middle aged man wearing a football shirt on a non match day just cries out of a brain still stuck in adolescence as "one of the lads".
|
|
By:
What about any grown man going out of their way to upload a picture of a football stadium for their Betfair profile picture, is that ok?
P.s I have a picture of Larsson on mine but I'm not judging anyone else |
|
By:
Not sure wanting to support your team can be deemed childish?
We all have "our thing" we like to do/look forward to. Pretty sure a racing fan would not be seen at a christening on cheltenham gold cup day etc. If me wanting to do certain things deems me childish than so be it. |
