Woman 2 doors away told me she was 72 recently, I said I thought she was older, it shut her up.

It's the need to exaggerate which I don't get. It's never, "I'm 72, you know," but rather, "I'll be 73 next January, you know."

"I thought you were older" is, of course, still the correct response.

My grandma was well into her 80's and referred to other people as old.

Bloke at our golf club is 93 and still plays. Fit as a flea. He and his wife have just celebrated their 73rd anniversary. He wanted to do a sponsored sky dive for charity last year but the doctors refused to allow him. He was gutted!

A lot about age is to do with personal perception. Like the documentary series recently in an old peoples home where they were all complaining of various ailments, lack of mobility etc. They put a group of young children in and all of a sudden the residents were like spring chickens; rolling around on the floor and everything :)

Something like 80% of the population can expect to reach 70.

I know a bloke who's 96, he rides a bike and goes swimming several times a week.

He said my mates used to laugh at me, they used to say why don't you come down the pub with us instead of going swimming?

He said they're not laughing now. They're all buried in the cemetery and I'm still going swimming.

It's not just the age you reach that's important it's the quality of life you enjoy in your last decade that's counts as well.
Wishing away the final years of your life to put you out of your misery is not an appealing prospect.

0% to 33% is a low percentage

34% to 67% is a medium percentage

68% to 100% is a high percentage

Hope that helps Cool

That would depend on what was happening tbh 20 % of people being Killed crossing a Road would be very high ..

and 20 % not making pension Age seems a Little high to me ....
