Much of policing these days, seems to be about getting money out of motorists.

Though I agree to a point STUDYFORM there's a hell of alot of people still taking the p with mobile phones whilst driving which is a big no no for me.I would have huge fines and bans and would be happy for more cameras for that sole purpose, been the 1 or 2 deaths and live changing incidents in the news lately relating to phones.

Them vapers are driving in a car full of dense smoke, can't see a fecking thing Laugh

Agree saddo, sometimes i have looked at cars with all this smoke coming out and thought their was a fire or something.

You can get done eating at the wheel so why not vaping.

Worse still, than just talking on the phone, which used to be OK, Denzil, is texting at the wheel!
I was on the outside lane of the M25, at about 70, bloke in a van swerving between lanes just missed me. he was texting, didn't even notice me when I beeped.
Mostly though, it's young women I've seen doing it the most. particularly at traffic lights or in slow moving traffic.

Texting should carry a 6 month jail term and a 10 year driving ban. There are too many people addicted to their phones.

I was more talking about the use of Police than what drivers do, to be honest. There are apparently only 79% of the actual number of police officers that there were in Essex (as an example) in 2010.

To be exact: 2010 - 3668 police officers
             2017 - 2909

But the fines for speeding were increased and street parking almost universally banned in most towns and cities and you cannot find figures for fines income.
There are plenty of vans about with cameras inside and a mass closure of police stations across the county.

There was a case - I think, in Swansea, a few years ago, where a council officer of some type saw a bloke (self-employed) in his OWN VAN, having a f'g.
The officer reported him and it went to court and the bloke was fined for smoking in his place of work.

Interestingly, when the law was changed in 2007 stopping smoking inside public places, EXCEPT for in the bars in the house of commons!!!!!
Tells you all you need to know about politicians.

It's mostly young women I noticed too (probably not a coincidence) I think it's the times we live in everybody self obsessed posting this and that on Facebook etc. like you say addicted.
Shocking numbers regarding the drop in police officers not sure how this can be justified tbh but there you go.

So much is shocking, Denzil.
So much is barely noticed.
It's all a bit depressing.

it would not be difficult to insert a device in a car that blocks the use of a mobile, which would make everyone get out of the car if they want to make that important call.

My windscreen washer is so intense that when I use it there is a moment when I can't see in front of me.
