Given that this evening's glitzy bash was pre-advertised as being an opportunity to courageously denounce sexual harassment, I'm assuming all the lefties in attendance took the opportunity to loudly denounce the disgraced Cox.

Yes?

Luvvie Ladies wore black dresses
Luvvie Men wore 'Times Up' badges on their lapels in solidarity
Then one award recipient called for a day of civil disobedience in her acceptance speech which was met with her walking off stage to the sound of her own footsteps.

I've seen Jennifer Lawrence's anus.

Yes, she does tend to talk a lot out of it, especially about a certain US politician.

I saw Three Billboards yesterday, which, was rather timely but unplanned.

Bloody good film and would recommend it to anybody. Unfortunately for some of you they don't show the black guy getting beaten up by the racist copWhoops.

Great performances by everybody and the especially by the unsung Sam Rockwell who plays the said racist Cop. Well worth his Bafta but he won't get an Oscar because he is a nobody as he said in his acceptance speech.

I've seen her front, back, chest and ****-covered face.  Hard to take her seriously after.

Thanks for the Heads Up WD, sounds like its another Hollywood propoganda race baiting film to be avoided.

No really,

I don't think it is political. It is a good film well written, acted and made. I defy you to say it was crepe and the message was crepe.

Woody Harrelson was excellent in it too, they all were. Oh and it is funny as well as dark. Put your prejudices away Vicky and watch it. It will get you away from my attacks on your Chumposhere and you will make you chortle, honestlyCool

I'll keep it in mind when its free on tinternet, won't be paying in to see it.
The star of it Frances McDormand was the lady calling for a day of civil disobedience on the Awards night mentioned above.
My 'prejudices' are become facts by the minute.

Calling for a day of civil disobedience. Silly cow.
These celebs get carried away with themselves.

Writer isnt known for political films, he just writes stuff thats interesting and funny - dont look for a hidden agenda
Report stickyvicky February 19, 2018 10:16 PM GMT
Agenda not hidden with Miss McDormand, don't know much about the writer.

Not seen Three Billboards but liked all of McDonagh's other fillums. In Bruges a cult favourite.

Dunkirk and Darkest Hour probably cut each other's throats: two films about more-or-less the same subject (and in the same year as Finest Hour as well).

There was no award you could point to as being clearly wrong, like you sometimes can (and even more so with the Oscars).

I was surprised Three Billboards counts as a British film though you can't complain it won a hatful of BAFTAs.

I'm old fashioned when it comes to films. I'm never happy with a film unless the baddie loses and the goody wins. So that rules out most modern films these days. So I always read up the plot on Wikipedia and find out the ending first, and if I like it and approve of the ending, then I may watch the film.

Needless to say, I won't be watching this 3 billboards film!

the end is ashley quite uplifting.

If you don't see it how can you make a judgement?

You can be assured it is a well written, well acted and well made film. If you like dark humour you may like it. If you have no sense of humour you won't. I think The Spice Girls are making a film about their proposed reunion...oh but I doubt that will have a happy ending.......unles of course you like seeing people you don't know maing loadsa $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

A lot of films these days are left open ended - deliberately so in an attempt to justify one or more follow up movies. I don't like them doing that either. Rocky 1, 2, 3 etc.etc.

Even films like 'Inception' was left open ended. I did in fact see that one, but still, at the end there was some doubt as to whether he was in a dream. Why oh why didn't they let the spinner finish spinning and then we would have known the answer? Again, left us hanging in the air thinking that there must now be an 'Inception 2' to resolve that answer. BAS****S!
