We need a total rethink on transport but the governments answer to the congestion is once again to build more roads which encourages more people to use the roads which then become even more congested so they need to build more roads again.
Maybe reopen the train lines, maybe stop putting gates on roads and creating paved town centres, fewer traffic lights and roundabouts which only serve big supermarket. A REAL biggie might be allowing people to park in empty side streets in big cities instead of forcing them to stay on the road until they reach a mega car park. Put conductors back on buses so they don't hold traffic up at every bus stop. Let kids walk to school again, like they always used to. Put more freight back on the railways. fix little potholes before they become weeks of roadworks. Stop centralising hospitals so everyone in a county is on the road for an hour to reach what used to be just up the road.
ALL of these things are what cause jams. I've possibly missed a couple too.
It's not all down to immigration.
