I thought he'd died years ago. But then I think I always confused him with the guy from the West Wing.

Wonderful actor - I have the box set of all eleven series of Frasier.
One of Martin's greatest episodes was when he pretended to be an astronaut to Daphne's english ex-boyfriend.
Watch 'The Two Mrs. Cranes', Series 4, Episode 1.

To be fair, during seasons three to seven there isn't anything other than a brilliant episode. John Mahoney was part of the greatest comedy (along with The Simpsons) that has ever been or will ever been, that's some legacy. Don't forget your warm glass of Tang, John. RIP

Character should not have had a dodgy leg in Frasier....thought it limited the comedic storylines.

Good actor....RIP

So many great lines as Martin Crane. My absolute favourite: after much vexation, Niles decides not to run after his awful, soon to be ex,-wife. Niles asks Marty - who has maintained a studious, paternal neutrality - if he would rather he had decided otherwise and gone back to her, under her terms. What did he really think?

"Son, I would rather you turned gay and shacked up with the punk who shot me."

Well Eddie will be glad to seem him for walkies.

RIP

TONIGHT apparently. Mastermind. A specialist round on Frasier.
Let's all do it in real time, no cheating, and report back on how close we got to the 'specialist'.
I'll be more than happy with double figures!
Best I ever did was 11 out of 13 I think when someone did Luton Town FC 1967 onwards.
