Nothing to do with the thread but the subject matter reminded me of a funny story.
Worked with a guy who had exceptionally long hair, sat on his shoulders.
Boss had him in and told him he'd need to get it cut as it wasn't a good image.
A proper haircut was mentioned and the boss quoted a few names in the office who had suitable hairstyles.
Okay said my colleague I'll comply as soon as you buy George a wig of similar style. (George was totally bald)
