BT Broadband - £31 BT Line - £18.99 BT Mobile(sim only) - £12 BT Sport - £7
Total - £68.99
Would it be wise to scrap all of the above and buy a 3 mobile unlimited data sim for just £28? I live in an area that i know has good EE 4G and i could just tether of my mobile if i wished to use the desktop pc.
I looked into this about 18 months ago. Most plans had a limit on tethering at that time, I think only giffgaff did an unlimited plan. Things have probably moved on since then.

I've just tied myself up for 18 months at 27 quid for landline, broadband and all calls except premium and overseas. I've no interest in paying for more TV.

My BT bill has crept up like yours has (and I don't have BT mobile, yet I'm paying the same amount!). I'm up for renewal next month and plan on telling them to shove it. Pretty sure I was paying sub-£40 when I joined. Up to them whether they wish to retain me as a customer or not. Nice as it is to have BT Sport, the pics are so far behind, they're useless for doing anything with them on here.

What pisses me off is that every year the only way to keep any company ,not just broadband, from putting up the price is to ring them up and play this game of I'm leaving, just to get a lower price.

No mention of hotspot allowance as far as i can see.

It's funny, because during every ad break I keep hearing about these massive bt deals. Who is getting these deals because it certainly isn't me. The only deal I've ever had from those extremely greedy bstards is a damn raw deal.

I'm with VM - not cheap, but their broadband at 150 Mb/s is really fast which is what I want. Pretty reliable, but does go down a few times a year for a couple of hours here and there.
It's about £55 per month for the broadband, including free landline to landline telephone calls 24/7, including line rental, including a basic TV package similar to freeview but I get ATR thrown in for the price.

It was the day of my switchover from BT to SSE in December & I phoned BT to make sure I would be keeping my BT e-mail for an extra month.
The guy I spoke to offered me the same deal I was on for £19.99 per month (free w/e calls and unlimited broadband) instead of the £45 odd I was currently on.
Even threw in a new hub for £20
Just goes to show they don't want to lose customers.

The regulator should address the requirement of providers like BT for us to have a landline. Most of us that have mobiles have next to no need for a landline. There are a few broadband providers that do not require a landline.

Signed up for this sim this morning. Will see how it goes and report back http://store.three.co.uk/view/plan/SIMOnlyD01022016T093546?aidset=1&manufacturer=&deviceType=SIM_ONLY&id=1666
Just another cartel. Every time Oftel comes up with a way of making everything connected to telephony a bit fair, usually taking about 2 years for each thing, all the companies find a way to keep the profits increasing.

So far this has turned out better than expected. EE 4G is faster than Bt broadband. Just cancelled all my Bt packages. Good bye Bt and hello £500 saving
