Backed 2 horses for £27.27 each in same race and they dead heated. My understanding of dead heats is that half stakes go on.
So I had £13.635 on each. Should return more I think.

yes dead heat return is half non-dead heat return.

Thanks,if half stakes, the bigger priced one should have returned 37.15 after comm, but returned 24.11 after comm. I'm obviously missing something.

you are mixing up "return" and "profit". Return is what you get back including stake.
