That episode would be "FACES" if memory recalls correctly.

He was indeed a fine actor, he played the teacher Mr. Farthing in the brilliant Ken Loach film 'Kes'.

you right slippy, i just read that he won a bafta for that part. getting back to the sweeney welland suspected that the sweeney

may have been in his house so he draws out this knife and shouts out " SWEENEY " it was so lifelike i nearly sHitt myself.

Kes is a classic Ken Loach kitchen sink drama..

Coincidence Corner :  A horse named The Sweeney runs at Ludlow this afternoon in the 3-45.

Currently trading on here at around 9/2 second favourite.

Alas I cannot for the life of me find a creature called "Knife-Wielding Freak Welland" declared as a runner at any of today's fixtures.

@alun2005 is far too literal. The Sweeney could only finish fourth in the Ludlow race but the winner was Crucial Role!!

Loved Colin Welland who I first spotted in Z Cars, with the wonderful Brian Blessed, who is one of my favourite people for a variety of reasons.

he was in the blue remembered hills with helen mirren ,micheal elphick ,and others playing kids ,had it on video ..very good
