Hard to realise that some 90 year old men used to wear their hair long and possibly even play in rock bands.
RIP |

He was the reason that those boys born in the early 70's a lot of them were called Jason and he was a bit of a housewives favourite (including my Mum) and portrayed an accomplished ladies man even though he was in a full time relationship with actor Alan Bates for many years! 90 years is a decent knock.

1st time poster, I think he was in Department S and remember The Champions fondly. Starred Stuart Damon, William Gaunt and the beautiful Alexandra Bastedo. Used to love it...

If anyone used to like the Comic Strip, Peter Richardson does a great impersonation of Jason King in the episode that I think was called Detectives on the Edge of a Nervous Breakdown..

Dickie Davies now 84, Desmond Lyneham 75 ... we're looking at the demise of the flamboyantly groomed swordsman.

RIP. Never knew about this until coming here today. Department S and Jason King enjoyable shows, and good theme tunes. Someone produced an entertaining mix up of the main themes some years ago (must be going back a few years, as I bought it on cassette tape!) YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t35wAgkSDbc
Then there was that 'crazy' album that Wyngarde brought out of course (track 3 particularly!)... |

News to me too. Thanks for advising. A grand age though. He seemed to have disappeared after being one of the bigger stars of the 70s. An 'interesting' life. I would have a read of his wikipedia page for a reminder.
