Big Ben and Heathrow Airport were among landmarks targeted by a British man who was "fascinated" by the so-called Islamic State, a court has heard.

The court heard his other intended targets included the Queen's Guard, the courts, Transport for London, Shia Muslims, Westfield shopping centres, banks in the City of London, Parliament, the English Defence League or Britain First, foreign embassies and media stations.

TBF, one or two of those I could get onboard with.

Mr Haque, a religious teacher, allegedly enlisted the help and support of others at a mosque on Ripple Road in Barking - where he is accused of grooming children with "role play" and extremist videos.

He allegedly showed pupils as young as 11 videos of beheadings in a bid to "foster and encourage" them into adopting his extreme ideology at the Islamic school where he worked, the court heard.

I'm sorry, I just do not believe it. Obviously a complete misunderstanding. It is nothing to do with Islam. Another case of a misguided mentally ill person of Asian heritage!

Strange. I'm watching the BBC news and wondering why some americans on the other side of the world mistreating their kids is such a big story, but when a gang in Northern England were put away a couple months ago, for the horrific multiple drugging, grooming and ra**ing performed over a long period, the BBC news didn't mention it. As I say, strange! Wonder if there was anything about the perpetrators in England that made the BBC not want to cover it.

It's top-rated after Carillion on ITV too. There couldn't possibly be collusion on what should be broadcast could there? Oh no, no, no.

self censorship (could be prosecuted)  or editorial decision (there are plenty of the in the media now)  or instructions from government
