Lead singer with The Cranberries, gone far too young at only 46. Very sad news indeed.

That is awful news. I love The Cranberries, I have been playing their Greatest Hits CD in my car continually for the last few weeks.

This is so terribly sad.

RIP Dolores Sad

RIP

I seem to remember reading somewhere, she was very, very rich.

A lot, lot richer than her (musical) peers.
Invested wisely in the Irish boom, I believe, although I may be wrong

The album 'No need to Argue' was obviously one of the albums of the 90s.
Not only because of the (stunning and bold)Zombie.

The way Dolores sang about the human side of the military violence she was exposed to, the utter waste of death etc, connected with me more than the way bands in the 70s and 80s had approached these issues.
There's a line in The Icicle Melts that always stuck with me 'because nine months in too long, too long'
So simple and direct but it just registers at a core level.

Her memory will linger a long time in the minds of music fans

Loved Linger. Really pretty song.

Honestly though, and I don't mean to speak ill of the dead, Zombie is possibly the worst song ever committed to vinyl. It is absolutely atrocious on every possible level.

It's a divisive song. People seem to either love it or detest it.
Because it's not meant to be a catchy toe-tapper. It's a scream of frustration.

And it's easy now to overlook how much balls it must have taken to put out a song like that in the climate of 1994.

You are not the only one. I have to Google most of the celebrities flagged up on ChitChat, perhaps it's my age.

An accident.

'Drowning by Alcohol Intoxication' says the Coroner.
