Time to bail out I'm afraid. I've no idea what's going on. It just seems to get more and more complicated.

said same to mrs

but no doubt it will all come together, ....begs question why not tell the story correctly?
Report bix January 14, 2018 10:49 PM GMT
Too clever for it's own good and another 4 episodes to go so may be best to give up now.
Report the bairn January 14, 2018 11:32 PM GMT

Not bad if anyone has missed it.

The word "dreary" was invented for the acting in this.

The actors seem to have a competition on who can speak the slowest and blandest

At least they are not repetitive Laugh

Absolutely loving it! Can't believe you guys are so critical. Last Sunday's episode was a cracker - the best so far. If you compare it to the ridiculous 'Silent Witness' my missus was watching the other night then there is no comparison. I totally disagree about the acting, I think it's very good and whilst I would marginally prefer 'The Night Manager', McMafia, despite it's silly name, is just getting better and better.
Report donny osmond February 9, 2018 11:58 AM GMT
main problem i have is the characters are so similar, it makes it hard to follow

no problem with the acting, and it may be better viewed as a box set so dont have
to remember from week to week

looking forward to final episode

why didnt they just kill him when he went to russia ?

is there a whole implied layer above them ?
Report pixie February 9, 2018 12:03 PM GMT
I would agree, Donny, watching as a box set does make it far easier to follow. I have followed it by saving them up and watching three or four a week (as I do) and whilst I agree there was one episode where new characters were introduced and was tough to follow to start with, overall I think the series is superb and I have really enjoyed it. I also think it has just got better and better, can't wait for the final episode!
Report pixie February 9, 2018 12:07 PM GMT
They didn't kill Alex in Russia as there was one scene where more senior mafia and politicians didn't want the attention so that idea was vetoed and it was decided to discredit him and attack his loved ones instead.
Report donny osmond February 9, 2018 12:39 PM GMT
yeah, i just thought when he stepped into their yard that would not apply, still
that wouldnt be a god ending as my mam used to say.
Report donny osmond February 9, 2018 12:39 PM GMT
good ending
Report bix February 12, 2018 11:29 AM GMT
For those who stuck it out was it worth it in the end.

I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but I didn't find it hard to follow...........it was reasonable but no more. Imagine it has been set up for series two
Report Paddy Hair February 13, 2018 10:57 AM GMT
I watched it and enjoyed it, a bit slow at times. My mate thinks it is a Rip Off of Layer Cake.
Report terry mccann February 13, 2018 12:47 PM GMT
easy to follow guys, maybe cos it was a little slow compaired to others you got a little bored? I agree with Pixie and thought it was very good. cleverly written.
Report TheBaron February 14, 2018 10:51 AM GMT
Ok but too slow. Didn't like the main character or the actor.  All the emotion of a plank of wood.
Report terry mccann February 14, 2018 11:12 AM GMT
maybe being so cold made him able to do what he did so calmly?
Report steerforth February 14, 2018 12:46 PM GMT
It might be that he was being directed to look stiff, in which case I apologise, but if so, the direction was poor because it just made him look like a bad actor. In the chase through the subway he was moving like he'd had an accident in his pants.
I haven't seen him in anything else apart from when he posed for Portrait Artist of the Year in which he was required to sit still for four hours. Have to say he looked a natural.
Report donny osmond February 14, 2018 1:11 PM GMT
hes different in grantchester, and without any serious visual difference was a very different character

must be a decent actor to pull off such different roles without me expecting robson green to
turn up as a bungling cop.
Report terry mccann February 14, 2018 1:21 PM GMT
wasn't he the kidnapper in happy valley? v v nasty man
Report SPOT THE DOG February 14, 2018 4:36 PM GMT
They could of cut this down, to a 3 part series, never had the legs to be a 8 parter.
Alex has a flaw, to his armour, so will not make a James Bond.... he can't run for toffee
Report pixie February 15, 2018 12:34 PM GMT
Lol. Funny that we all picked up on the fact that he can't run!! I think it's to do with the fact he's so tall. As I said, I thought the acting overall was superb, especially Alex's parents (especially mother) and the girlfriend. I was also surprised how much of a convincing villain Jimmy Carr was too.
