With Cook's decline ( one double century doesn't make a summer )Root is the only world class batsman left. Anderson is still very good but is fast medium as are the rest of them,but they're not so good. Moeen is a joke as the only front-line spinner,Lyon was an integral part of the Aussie attack.

I'd say that Jonny Bairstow is a world-class batsman as well. Looks full of runs whenever he comes to the crease.
This winter will have come as a rude shock to many in the England set-up who have been batting like millionaires this last few years on English pitches, trying to hit every ball for 4 or 6. |
