Sydney swelters on hottest day since 1939 as mercury hits 47.3C

Learn the difference between weather and climate. Then realise that global warming is about the climate.

Geo-engineering.

Just when you think the forum's alt right can get any stupider

By:
Snow = climate change
No snow = global warming Flooding = climate change Drought = global warming Hottest day since 1939 = it's never been as hot as this before |
|
By:
It's much hotter in Africa than England , what's wrong with that
|
|
By:
It's a problem that doesn't exist , those are easier to solve than problems that do exist
The politicians and phony scientists should shut up and do their job |
|
By:
That means give them something to do now , problems and things that need taking care of now
And if they don't do it, sack then |
|
By:
When they talk about climate change can the thought of losing their job inspire them with fear
No. that's why they talk about it |
|

How do you know a phony scientist ?
When she states her sentence with so and wears a hard hat |
|
By:
And a phony scientist or politician or a phony anything ?
They talk about climate change |
|
By:
That's how you recognise a phony politician , sack him
|
|
By:
The stupidity of people who don't know the difference between weather and climate is extremely worrying.
|
|
By:
Not as much as climate "scientists" who don't understand weather. Or physics, or the hydrological cycle, or the regulatory effect of convective cloud formation in the tropics on global atmospheric heat.
|
|
By:
I see the usual neanderthals are in denial of climate change too.
|
|
By:
Is that the 'new' term for GLOBAL WARMING which they use to cover up their c0ck up? or..........??
I thought this was the delight (certainly of the UK) was its continually change. But hey ho what do I know. Skating on the thames now being predicted. |

Atmospheric temperature is regulated by the presence or absence of clouds. Climate models are unable to model cloud formation. Clouds are instead represented as an average.
In physics textbooks, and in 4 billion years of this planet's history, additional heat is always moderated by cloud, rain and evaporative cooling. In climate models, by contrast, additional heat simply builds up relentlessly, and we must be DOOMED. From the Climate Change bible - the report of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change: The role of clouds in the climate system continues to challenge the modelling of climate ... The importance of clouds was summarised in the SAR: The single largest uncertainty in determining the climate sensitivity to either natural or anthropogenic changes are clouds and their effects on radiation and their role in the hydrological cycle. And yet, the single greatest source of uncertainty in the estimates of the climate sensitivity continues to be clouds ... This question of cloud feedback remains open, and it is not clear how it will be answered. Given that the current generation of global climate models represents the Earth in terms of grid-points spaced roughly 200 km apart, many features observed on smaller scales, such as individual cloud systems and cloud geometry, are not explicitly resolved ... Unless there are stronger links between those making observations and those using climate models, then there is little chance of a reduction in the uncertainty in cloud feedback in the next twenty years. https://www.ipcc.ch/ipccreports/tar/wg1/507.htm This is the trouble. The same UN report can on the one hand deliver a headline telling us that there is no longer any doubt that the planet is warming and that the climate is changing, while at the same time admitting that the planet's weather and and climate are too complicated to forecast or calculate. But of course, anyone making the effort to read the details and finding themselves troubled by the depth of uncertainty can only be a stupid, alt-right neanderthal. |

But think of the poor polo bears floating on their mints ho ho (deliberate smelling mistook)
all you knuckle dragging deniers are nazis etc etc ho h or maybe not ho ho ps THEY DO NOT KNOW but you can make lots of money out of it |

Don't be too hard on the scientists chaps.
After all, their guess is as good as anyone else's. |

Busy busy busy today couldn't get to check the answer to the above conundrum.
It seems no one on thread can explain it. Gore’s Predictions Fall Flat 12 years after Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth” guilt/fear producing predictions, let’s close by examining just how accurate his “science” proved to be on his way to the bank. Just before leaving public office in 2001, Gore reported assets of less than $2 million; 2012, his wealth was estimated at $100 million. Now denying he is a Carbon Billionaire 1. Rising Sea Levels – inaccurate and misleading. Al was even discovered purchasing a beachfront mansion! ![]() 2, Arctic didn't melt, polar bears are thriving 3, Kilimanjaro's snow hasn't disappeared 4. Increased Tornadoes – declining for decades. 5. New Ice Age in Europe – we’ve been spared; it never happened. 6. South Sahara Drying Up – completely untrue. 7. Massive Flooding in China and India – again didn’t happen. 8. Melting Arctic – false – 2015 represented the largest refreezing in years. 9. Temperature Increases Due to CO2 – no significant rising for over 18 years. 10. Katrina a Foreshadow of the Future – false – past 10 years, no F3 hurricanes; “longest drought ever!” 11. The Earth would be in a “True Planetary Emergency” within a Decade Unless Drastic Action Taken to Reduce Greenhouse Gasses – never happened. The Washington Post stated in an expose’ that, “Al Gore has thrived as a green-tech investor.” Coincidental? Gore made a number of wild claims regarding what we could expect to see happening over the next few years due to global warming, but virtually all of his alarmist prognostications have turned out to be false. |

The problem is that most climate scientists don't understand what Spurious Precision means.
The reality is that climate scientists have little idea what is happening the climate, and even less idea what is going to happen to it. |

stickyvicky - most of that snow is in the hilly north west interior that gets similar winters to somewhere like Yorkshire ...deep snow not entirely unusual for that part of Spain ...maybe once a year ... Burgos /Leon etc
