"This photo will form part of history, and any parent would take this opportunity to provide for their children."

What utter drivel dreamed up by some middle man marketing department.

It was once believed that Prince William and the Markle bird were one and the same as they'd never been seen together.  This photograph is proof that they are, in fact, two distinct entities.

Ms Anvil won't spill the beans about exactly how much the image will bring in for her and Rachel, but does say while it's not "millions or even half a million, it's been a great help".

So, realistically, how much should she expect? I have no idea of these things but am slightly curious! Right result, either way. I would milk it for all it was worth too!

The fact it has any value at all is baffling.

Been a good few years since I've had anything published in the national press, but big newspapers would typically pay circa £150 for a bog-standard, non-cover pic (key point being "bog-standard", which this evidently isn't).

Some of the bigger name mags might be willing to pay considerably more, but given how much it's been used (ie no exclusivity), I would be surprised if that is the case.

Why is this 'evidently' not a bog standard image?
There is not artisan skill involved, no added value it was just a pic of four people two of whom happen to be royals.
So what?

I meant "evidently" in the sense that there appears to be demand for it (because of the Royals pictured and the engagement).  It's no earth-shattering pic by any stretch....

The surprising thing is that plenty of press snappers must have known this was on the cards, yet they've all been gazumped by someone with a phone!

but think of the tourism

all those pregnant health tourists can get a view of them after giving birth
what a nice package we could give them

I am full of good ideas.

The idea that market value is made up based on interest is the thing that amazes and alarms me in equal measure.

Like the very people who purchase the magazines that creates the demand forget their own plight just to be sated by a view of their 'leaders'.

Its life imitating the vision of HG Wells who implied the people are given the things they think they want to keep them from dealing with the bigger problems at hand.
