A much underrated band imo, Woman In Chains is a bit of a masterpiece, for me.

I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad there aren't bands of this calibre around these days. It's a mad world.

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces Bright and early for their daily races Going nowhere, going nowhere Their tears are filling up their glasses No expression, no expression Hide my head, I want to drown my sorrow No tomorrow, no tomorrow And I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had I find it hard to tell you, I find it hard to take When people run in circles it's a very very Mad world, mad world Children waiting for the day, they feel good Happy birthday, happy birthday Made to feel the way that every child should Sit and listen, sit and listen Went to school and I was very nervous No one knew me, no one knew me Hello teacher, tell me what's my lesson Look right through me, look right through me And I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had I find it hard to tell you, I find it hard to take When people run in circles it's a very very Mad world, mad world Enlarge your world Mad world With so many covers it shows it was a masterpiece. |

Like the pet shop boys , that sort of music something feels like it is missing , they know they are talentless
|
|
By:
Madonna , that's another one . Same thing
|
|
By:
Culture club , same problem again
|
|
By:
Duran Duran , yep them too
|
|
By:
When the notes cease, everything remains the same
|
|
By:
Listening to that music I always have the same feeling ,
something's missing I can't explain it any other way |
|
By:
It's a similar feeling you might have for artificial grass

Shout Shout Let it all out These are the things I can do without Come on I'm talking to you Come on ![]() |
|
By:
: ) yes stickyvicky but I have already said it loud and clear
with a few too many repetitions But any sensitive person would understand why this music is the same as artificial grass |

It's the difference between stock Aiken and waterman and Motown
Well one is sh!te and the other sublime |
|
By:
That lovely songs like Abraham , Martin and John exist ,
Is a lovely thought |

Nothing has compared to the 80's music era since imo.
From U2 Madness Simple Minds Depeche Mode etc. to the above you have mentioned, most wrote their own songs and played their own instruments. Tears for Fears actually surprisingly to me have a large catalogue of hits after watching this programme. Agreed Stock Aiken and Waterman brought in all the manufactured stuff coming off a conveyor belt every week. |

Tears for Fears - fantastic band

You missed out Stefan Dennis, St Winifred's school choir, and Black Lace.

By the 1980s there were no remarkable men left in music

i've never heard anyone say that the 1980s wasn't a good musical decade .... I think there was a really good mix going on .
