Teens are happy to 'dine out' on a thirteen quid Five Guys burger these days, no wonder they are always skint.

Nando's ...love it.
In Basingstoke "Festival Place" there's a string of Restaurants alongside Nando's ...all half empty ...Nando's absolutely rammed ! |
|
By:
I know that but WHY?
|
|
By:
Nothing to do with "Emperors new clothes" ....they eat there 'cos they like it !
Very distinctive taste(s) . |

Went once a few years ago. Euston, I think. Looks like a works canteen and you order at the counter. Is that it? Average food...

FOREIGN MUCK

I went there once many years ago. It was chicken and that's it. I'd wager it's halal by default too.

Surely only poor people go to Nando’s? What’s wrong with some good quality foie gras?

I've been a couple of times, once in Streatham and the other time in Denmark Hill near King's College hospital. I thought they were both very below mediocre at best, bordering on unpalatable. I'd say 2.5/10 would be about the right score both times and it's not a place I'd ever care to go to again.

rockinron begs from outside the plaice that is how he nose yer nose

If you want to eat chicken and chips, it's a lot better than KFC which is deep fried and coated with greasy muck.
A lot of people seem to like Nando's, must be the flavour and the ambiance compared to other themed restaurants. They don't seem to spend anywhere near as much on advertising as the big American franchises. |

Halal Chicken
We have 385 restaurants, 72 of which serve only Halal chicken and are signposted both in the restaurant and online. A small proportion of chicken sold in our other restaurants may also be Halal. This may happen on rare occasions if there are, for example, issues with supply. Who supplies our Halal chicken? Our Halal chickens are supplied to us by Cargill Freemans of Newent. They are authorised by the Islamic Institute of Jurisprudence and are one of the UK’s leading suppliers of Halal chicken. |

Obviously Nando's is considered 'haute cuisine' in Basingstoke!
Been twice and was very underwhelmed both times. The food was not even hot on either occasion. Average chicken with poor chips. Table sauce accompaniment. Not even particularly cheap. Never again. |

did you see rockinron outside with his begging bowl and dog
or had he already earned enough and gone home to his luxury flat |

Went to one in my high street a few years ago. Couldn't believe you had to queue at the counter and pay for it before getting the meal.
As said above, thought it was quite average and overpriced. |

Anyone who eats there should be shot. They use caged chickens.

A petition set up to tackle Nando’s welfare standards states that ‘the chickens are reared in tens of thousands, and pushed to grow very, very fast only to be slaughtered at unnaturally young ages. That causes the animals to suffer cardio-vascular diseases. They become painfully crippled because they are growing so fast that their lungs, bones and heart cannot keep up.' Choosing free-range chicken doesn’t only protect the welfare of the animals, it protects us from any harmful chemicals or pesticides that otherwise could’ve been used on the chickens to help them grow unnaturally.

Chat started: 2018-01-04 12:40 PM UTC
(12:40:45 PM) ian: Hello (12:40:47 PM) *** Nando's joined the chat *** (12:40:55 PM) Nando's: Hello Ian, how can I help? (12:42:02 PM) ian: animal welfare is very important to me, although i'm not veggie. I'm sure you use free range cheicken, i certainly hope so. Can you confirm please? (12:43:28 PM) Nando's: I'm afraid not Ian, we don't use free range chicken (12:43:41 PM) ian: oh dear, why not? (12:43:59 PM) ian: i'd pay extra as would many more (12:44:51 PM) Nando's: We do value chicken welfare and want to do the right thing but we also have to balance this with the prices our customers are able to pay. (12:45:28 PM) Nando's: I understand many customers are happy to pay the extra cost but there are also families and other customers who are unable to and we don't want to price them out (12:45:34 PM) ian: How can you value animal welfare when chickens are reared in tens of thousands, and pushed to grow very, very fast only to be slaughtered at unnaturally young ages. That causes the animals to suffer cardio-vascular diseases. They become painfully crippled because they are growing so fast that their lungs, bones and heart cannot keep up.' (12:45:52 PM) Nando's: With that being said, it is a work in progress and we want to head in the right direction but these things may take time (12:46:28 PM) ian: so at the moment you value your income above animal welfare. i see, thanks. (12:47:48 PM) Nando's: That is not what I said (12:48:30 PM) ian: well you can't say that can you, but it's obviously true. (12:49:46 PM) Nando's: Okay, well as I say we have a department here who are dedicated to improving our practices in the business from the ground up and we are working towards making better choices (12:50:15 PM) ian: you said you value animal welfare. In what way does this value show. What do you do to "value" it? (12:50:35 PM) ian: missed your last post, fair enough (12:51:05 PM) ian: ok thank s anyway, bye (12:51:15 PM) Nando's: Take care (12:51:20 PM) Nando's: Have a good day (12:51:25 PM) ian: u2 (01:07:43 PM) *** Nando's left the chat *** |

I might protest this afternoon. It's next to Wetherspoons in Bradford so nice and handy. lol
|

By:
Make a day of it and pop in after seeing your friends Rolf and Mr Clifford.
|
|
By:
* apologies - just Rolf now.
On the brightside it leaves you more time to continue your chicken crusade. |
|
By:
worrabout the poor piggies?
|
|
By:
How did the protest go, Kenny?
Seriously, only government legislation can provide a level playing field and put an end to animal abuse once and for all. You don't seem to have picked up on the earlier reference to foie gras this time. |
|
By:
I certainly did pick up on it, Foinavon. But I let it go as I've commented on that many times.
Re the protest, I just scowled at the customers as I went past. :-) |

You could have given them a leaflet about PETA which you often cite; despite their lies and fabrications.

MUSLIM bosses have sparked a row by warning Nando’s it must follow strict guidelines if it decides to sell ‘halal’ chicken at its proposed Blackburn restaurant.
"The Lancashire Council of Mosques, which represents East Lancashire‘s Muslims, said the chain does not meet its religious certification of halal food and now the chairman of the LCM’s Halal Committee Salim Mulla has warned the international restaurant company it will tell local followers of Islam to boycott the new outlet, due to open this winter in the Vue cinema complex, if it does not change its procedures" So the chicken can't win. Gets treated like **** all it's life and then get it's throat cut and bleed slowly to death. |

they are quite right
let the slaughter continue Alli baba or whatever it is |

One of the funniest things I've ever seen is Chris Gayle in a shiny tracksuit and dark glasses, and dripping with gold bling, strolling into Nando's in Taunton high street.
He still somehow looked a cool dude. |

You've heard of painting by numbers, Nando's is just food by numbers.
