Estimated 1000 vehicles destroyed by a fire

Never heard that one before
Wonder if some scallys have some overinsured cars in this mess

Or are multi car parks as bad as Grenfell

Wink

Astonishing really, no sprinklers, no extinguishers. Seems the norm to let em burn themselves out these days.

A Landy's engine blew up & there was a bird filming?  Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

No lives lost, that's good though.  Shame the horse people had their show cancelled, not to mention the poor folk who couldn't get home on NYE.

was thinking exactly the same myself saddo, surely in a car park that big there must have been cctv, security guards etc. ??

i can understand these fires spread rapidly but it seems odd there was no mention of anyone trying to fight the initial fire,

the one the woman stood leisurely taking photos of. !!

There is no way a sprinkler system would have helped here!

Have you ever seen fire crews, trying to extinguish just one burning car, with high pressure hoses?

The car owners biggest problem will be trying to invents valuables that could be incinerated in the fire.
