Some would suggest they were best of friend's and many of Elvis close friends suggest much manipulation ?

Some say towards the end Elvis was purely paying off Tom's casino debts in Vegas ?

Parker took a gamble and paid what was then a huge amount to control Presley's career. The Vegas shows were a prime example, two shows a night, seven days a week on enough uppers and downers to kill a horse. Parker screwed Elvis all his life and due to his gambling addiction ended up broke working as a Casino greeter for room and board in Vegas.

Elvis also couldn't do gigs aboard due to Parker being a wanted man back home in Holland

I heard he was an illegal in America and to go abroad would require a passport and risk revealing his illegal status.

Anyhow, I think Elvis was incredibly overhyped.  All he did was karaoke.
