I expect they'll blame the idiot who made the hoax report rather than the guy who pulled the trigger. Otoh the hoaxer is hardly blameless, and an innocent man lies dead. What a bloody mess.

You'd think they'd at least be aware of the callers approximate location.

No, it was not the hoax caller who was shot dead; it was a totally innocent, unarmed guy who accidentally spooked the trigger-happy police. |

Why? |

Not sure why the swatting aspect is so prominent, straightforward murder sounds more appropriate.

"Not sure why the swatting aspect is so prominent, straightforward murder sounds more appropriate."
Why's that? |
|
By:
Because its nowhere near enough reason to kill someone
|

Is there anybody that has said a Swatting means someone should die?
You are the one that mentions murder. Please try and justify it. |

Wouldnt it be easier just to give your opinion rather than ask questions?
My opinion is that the cops not getting more information/ negotiating etc is a more serious issue to be investigated than the hoax call. Im not bothered about forensically proving it counts as murder, that wasnt my point. |

Will all be down to what the police thought they were facing.
An armed man who has killed once and threatened to kill again. Given that is what they believed they were dealing with I doubt anything will happen to the police officer who fired. Certainly not murder. Hope they trace the hoaxer. |
