Surprised to hear this, all the German men I met when I used to work there were very pleasant and considerate.

The otherwise habitually open German Government is strangely reluctant to say how much the integration of 1 million refugees plus subsequent family members (x 6 to 8, effectively unskilled/uneducated) will cost. Some German papers suggest ca 180 billion euros for the next few years. Goodbye Mutti.

It seems strange that Germany is reluctant to recycle its spare change to cash-strapped southern Europe yet chooses to spend huge amounts in this way.
Perhaps there are still people in Germany who think that asylum is temporary and that all the migrants will magically leave of their own accord once the conflict zones revert to normal. It may take a little longer for the reality of the situation to sink in.

but the syrians who are in the uk and rest of europe will have a taste of much better prospects in western society and are unlikely to want to go back

There is absolutely no denying that the job situation has improved from october 2016 (I think Injera's link was from that time), to now.

What on earth has happened in Modern Progressive Germany, the leading EU Nation, that her women and girls aren’t even free to celebrate New Year’s Eve in the capital without stringent security measures in place to prevent them being raped and assaulted on an industrial scale?
