You can't put a price on it saddo.
Much did they say it would cost? |
|
By:
No idea, but everything has a price. I expect they will underestimate the costs and overestimate the benefits as is usual in these things.

The taxpayers will also be footing the unprecedented security bill which will be required to police this event.
Still, at least some halfwit politicians will be able to try and keep a straight face as they stare into a camera and trot out garbage like "We'll be highlighting the Youth and Diversity of the area". Very much as Coventry was required to do when becoming the 'City of Culture', and as London did when becoming Olympic host. The British taxpayer has had their fill of funding the policing of "the Youth and Diversity" of various British cities. |

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when the BBC showed some of Coventry's pitch to be the 'City of Culture'. It featured a young man wearing a pair of trousers with no knees in it, riding on a skateboard.
What the Shipmaning, Bradying, Huntleying hell has THAT got to do with Culture exactly? WHY would you present an image such as that to some arbiter of what represents 'Culture? And who on earth could be impressed with it? |
|
By:
Sorry, that opening paragraph should have read "It featured a young man wearing a pair of trousers with no knees in it, and another riding on a skateboard".
It doesn't make Coventry any more 'cultural' for it obviously. |
