She's got no chance.
Why not give Lenny Henry a go? Go on BBC grasp the nettle and sod the ratings, you know you want to. |

I always thought that David Thewlis would have been an excellent Dr.Who.

I think it's about time that Dr Who appealed to minorities, just like the Christmas ads from all the big food companies. SO- how about a one legged. lesbian transgender transvestite of "Asian heritage" who is anorexic and dyslexic. That should just about do it.

don't forget to add that he/she/it needs to be mentally unstable and have a good career prospect of being a professional footballer...

Of course, silly me!

Vibrant/Minority characters have now been parachuted into so many BBC/ITV dramas that the Britain they portray is unrecognisable to anyone with a pair of eyes.

See Peaky Blinders last night?
They've given Benjamin Zephaniah a part, he's famous for writing children's poetry. He just stood there in the background and didn't say a word. |
|
By:
He's been in quite a few episodes, the character the plays being completely superfluous to the drama.
Another mystifying appointment. |

Straight away it feels too forced, cant see it lasting long judging by my familys reactions to it, most only watched because it was xmas and a regeneration episode. "Ahh brilliant"... cringe lol

Its gotten pretty daft I must admit
, hes gone from helping earth to saving the universe 100s of times.. "time is ending" to "the universe is fractured" , theres only so many times you can end the universe only to bring it back again before it gets desperate. I think this Whittaker must be the last throw of the dice before its obvious cancellation. I think they are going down a police drama route judging by the actors involved and promo pics. |

It was great when I was a kid ,have to ask the brother in law who is addicted what he thought of this offering ,which I forgot to watch ..
The Yetis in the London Undergound Tapes would be Worth Millions... |

Never mind saving the universe, here the Doctor saved no-one because there was never any danger. The big bad glass monsters turned out to be resurrecting people, not killing them, and even when the captain was put back in his trench, it was just in time for the informal 1914 truce. Still at least we got snow and Christmas carols.

I loved last night's Christmas episode. I thought David Bradley was awesome
![]() I'm sorry to see Peter Capaldi leave and was really disappointed when it was announced that we were to have a female Doctor, but I'm prepared to give Jodie Whittaker a chance. I thought she made a great entrance by managing to fall out the Tardis ![]() Looking forward to the new series ![]() |
