audience rating 57%. The worst of any star wars film.

It is worse than sh1t. It is pretty sh1t in its own right, with some standout moments of utter awfulness but it manages to top this by sh1tting all over the last film and the films that came before it.

Mark Kermode bbc raves about it

all the critics do. it's inexplicable.

i've seen it.

it's awful.

and i really really really wanted to like it.

and it's an easy gig as well.

like watching a best friend give a best man's speech.

but Rian Johnson screwed the pooch hard here, with no vaseline.

fair enough you saw it

I've read quite a few reviews and to be perfectly honest I'm taking all the gushing ones with a pinch of salt, fawning over the flick like it's an absolute masterpiece which despite not having seen it I just don't buy into that at all. In fact, I'll probably not even bother going to see it in the cinema. This gets 93% on rotten tomatoes and a true all time classic and my favourite film of all time namely 'There Will Be Blood' only got 91%. Nah, I'm not having that at all, I'll wait for the dvd to come out but I'm not wasting an afternoon at the Brixton Ritzy to see a film that I've already got doubts about! Plain

Non-Star Wars fans should obviously avoid it - for fans, it's alright, if you liked the Force Awakens, then this is similar fayre - there's good and bad bits

Was listening to Mayo & Kermode rave on about it yesterday and good to see some balance here.  I only saw the first three SW filums & I'll raise Slippy's DVD to watching it on council telly.

A typical film franchise of this type. The first one marvellous, the next couple not quite so good and the rest get progressively worse.  Slowly turns from thrills n spills to syrup and messages of morality. Milking the gullible public for as long as they are prepared to pay. Sir Alec Guinness got it right. Instead of a fee a took a percentage! Very shrewd!

The Force Awakens has a 93% rating, and never in my entire life have I been so disappointed with a movie as I was with the Force Awakens. I think I still suffer from the trauma. If only it was possible to unsee a movie... Not going to pay any money to watch this new one.
Report DStyle • December 16, 2017 10:16 AM GMT
as i said, one of the worst bits about the last jedi is that it takes the redeeming features of the force awakens and sh1ts on them.

If you enjoyed the last one you'll enjoy it, no real stand out moments with this one and some real clunky scenes, if you want to take it seriously you won't enjoy it, there's plenty of holes, but it's Star Wars, if you take it for what it is it's enjoyable enough.

I saw Force Awakens (8.1 IMDb) and Rogue One (7.8).

Can't recall either or know which one was which. They're good fun but pretty rubbish.

You have to disengage your brain before entering a cinema with many action type films.

Will probably watch Jedi in January when the hype has died down a bit.

Disappointing for me that theyve done this series as a reboot rather than a continuation of the saga but that appears to be a division between old fans and new.

Seems to me that some of the cast and production team are far more interested in themselves and each other and 'what a great time we had making this movie' than they are about the final cut.

Was pretty disappointed but didn't think it was terrible. THE Leia scene was one of the most ridiculous scenes in any SW film though.

I enjoyed Force Awakens though plot-wise it's a carbon copy of the original film. I wanted something new this time round and that's what I didn't get. Some reviewers have called it nods to past films but I just thought there was a load of re-hashing and was crying out for something original.

Some nice touches in it but by far the worst of the new SW films.

It says it all when Chewbacca has the best dialogue..seriously, he's often the best character in the films.

In fairness, Oscar Isaac (poss best acting currently working for me) was good. But I thought John Boyega was more or less reduced to a bit part this time.

I've seen it now. Boring, same old stuff. Not tense at all despite all the shootouts.

Overly long. Hanging on grimly for the inevitable final scene. Star for me was the little droid (quite brilliant) and the little birds (who were hilarious!!) - basically anything that couldn't speak.
