At one stage I was getting about 8 or 10 every December, Stan James was always the best one but that ship has long since sailed. Corals sell them for a quid in their shops and you get a free bet for that amount. The Racing Post do good desk diaries, £30 a pop and I have got a couple for two of my brothers as Christmas prezzies.

Hi slippy, those desk diaries are really nice presents but if you're on about the leather bound ones theyre a bit more pricey these days just paid £47.50 for one

Regarding the free bet in the diaries, korals do 2 diaries one cardboard bound and one leather-bound, the leather-bound ones are very nice but they do not go to the shopsSadI always manage to get one thoughWinkonly problem the leather-bound ones this year don't have a free bet inSurprised not sure about the others.

They are done by Mel Fordham, I have a picture from Mel in 1982 at Sandown Park those were the daysHappy Mel was also a greyhound trainer do you recall his name?

Hi Ronnie, I just looked at his site and those look nice diaries for the price. The name Mel Fordham does not ring any bells with me in the greyhound world to be honest with you, I doubt he would have been attached to any of the London tracks as I would probably have come across him back in the day at some stage.

Nice chap Mel, didn't know he was a greyhound trainer either. I used to buy the Mel Fordham diaries to give to my customers but alas, with spiraling costs and revenue dropping I put a stop to that about 5 years ago. Sad
