In April 1980, armed gunmen stormed the Iranian Embassy in Princes Gate, London and took all inside hostage. Over the next six days a tense standoff took place, all the while a group of highly trained soldiers from the SAS prepared for a raid the world had never seen.

yep they interupted the snooker I was watching at the time to show it live, which I always thought was clever giving those inside warning they were coming

Wasn't the Balkan street seige a few years earlier also six days ?
remember it well bigmo, very exciting stuff, a story came out from the SAS that Thatcher told them "I do not want an ongoing problem, the problem should not leave the embassy"
I gave the film an hour but switched it off. Didn't think much of it myself.
