Sick to death of turkey and relations year after year we are looking to head to the coast (\norfolk/Suffolk/Essex/Kent) for a bracing walk along the front and fish and chips ... anyone help me here?

That is quite a lot of coast!
You might want to find an area 1st.

There are some indian restaurants open all over the place if you can't find a chippy.

Brendan if it is Suffolk you fancy then I would heartily recommend one of my old stomping grounds The Maybush Inn in Waldringfield, set on the bank of the River Deben. It's a lovely walk along the river and the food is always of a very high standard (I'm fairly sure our man Coachbuster knows it), I'm not sure if they will do their great fish and chips dinner on Christmas Day though but if not it's a place to keep in mind for the future.

We had a top notch buffet of cold food sat in the back of a Ford Escort at Porthcawl, Christmas Day about 20 years ago.

We got some strange looks from dog-walkers, but we did have party hats on.

That's near me. it's a great place, also recommend The Ramsholt Arms on the opposite side of the Deben.

Yes indeed bigH, I have been to The Ramsholt Arms many times as well, I had a beach hut on the river bank 10 minutes walk from The Maybush for many years and we'd sail over there. I used to love my times in Waldringfield and popping into Woodbridge as well, happy days Happy
