Ms Markle, who plays Rachel Zane in US TV drama "Suits", was born on 4 August 1981 and grew up in Los Angeles but now lives in Toronto.

Her father was a cinematographer on the hit 80s show "Married...with Children" and her first television appearance in the US was in an episode of the medical drama "General Hospital" in 2002, before moving on to roles in "CSI, Without A Trace" and "Castle".

Ms Markle then began appearing in major Hollywood films, including "Get Him To The Greek", "Remember Me" and "Horrible Bosses".

She has also appeared in the sci-fi series "Fringe", playing FBI special agent Amy Jessup,

In September 2011, she married film producer Trevor Engelson after dating for seven years, but the pair divorced two years later.

Sure her parents are definitely happy, not sure about the Queen. Good luck to them both. Diana would be so proud of Harry, yessssss ! Wink

As an expert on genetics, I would like to point out that there is a possibility that Her Majesty The Queen may have an Afro American Great Grandchild.

Fair play to Harry.

^ Isn't that an Irish Afro American great grandchild?

Perhaps I put it a little too delicately. I was implying that depending on dominant and recessive genes, the Great Grandchild could possibly be Non White!

The ginger gene is a powerful yoke imho, this has the makings of an epic paddy poar special.

BBC loving the mixed race angle.

I share the concern of others regarding colour of potential offspring. Ginger doesn't mix with much.
