I do cook casemoney and I like nothing better than doing a Sunday roast for whoever is around at mine but I don't bake bread to be honest. My local bakers do brilliant loaves baked in house and only for about £2.50 a pop so I can't be bothered getting involved in that carry on personally when I could not possibly do it as well as they do!

The "no Knead" method of bread making is worth a look Casemoney. You add a very small amount of yeast when making the dough and allow it to prove at least overnight or for up to 24 hours. Longer fermentation tends to give improved flavour. There are plenty of references to it on the net.

Make fresh Pitta breads a lot with chopped fresh chilli and ground spices in them. Great hot out the oven.

Choc chip banana cake is a regular bake before making a roast / casserole / fish 'n' chips (saves oven costs and I'm from Scotland).

Never tried baking my own bread but I mean to give it a try.  I'll try No knead, thx Foin.

Baking is not my strong point but can cook. I tried Diet Coke chicken last night...........not bad even if I say it myself plus it's a healthy fat free meal  !
