Yep Scam >i reported it to BT via online chat immediately and they blocked the calling number .
I asked the scammers for my BT account number which strangely they could not give .
Mine started with the usual we are getting error messages from your computer and when i dint play ball threatened to cut off internet access which is a load of tosh.

I get them on a regular basis, always ask them for my BT account number, they always say that they're not the accounts dept, gets a bit heated after this and tell them to eff off and die.

Had a couple of calls recently, always Asian accents, informing me that some electrical appliance (which I don't have) has run out of warranty and would I like to extend the deal. I string them along a bit, give them all sorts of bogus guff.
They ask which bank I deal with... give them the wrong one of course, and then they ask for my account number so they can set up a direct debit.
Then it gets interesting :) I tell them they should already have my details, and they go on about security and all that.
I keep them on hold while I pretend to get my details, for as long as I like, and talk to them again. Then I rant on about how they're nothing but thieves, scamming anyone who is stupid enough to give them anything concerning bank details etc. My parting words always end with off.

I had one years ago said they were from my ISP, I said if you are my ISP you'll know who you are .. which they didn't. But like a trooper tried to continue !

"Hello This is Lenny"
.

Lenny is a 15 minute tape loop which strings the phone scammers along with a doddery old man persona.
Some of the callers don't realise its a tape until 45-60 minutes in Crazy

Had one today saying I had a refund from banks overcharging customers.

He said he was from the UK Claims Service and that the government were paying back the money, I queried that and said why are the government paying it back, it should be the banks.

I then asked what bank am I getting a refund from? He avoided answering that many times.

I asked him what part of the government was the UK Claims Service part of, I asked is it the Ministry of Home Affairs, Finance or Justice.

He picked up on that and replied the Ministry of Justice.

Strung him along a few more minutes then told him he was a scumbag scammer and to go do one.
