Right at the end of last night's Newsnight (20 November if you want to check on iplayer) to mark the royal 70th anniversary Emily Maitlis introduced a clip of HMQ's wedding from 1937, when, like now, Spain was in crisis and a Conservative Prime Minister was negotiating with a Europe about to change.
