asking universities to give details of political lectures regarding brexit (already available online) and the lecturers giving them.
Bullying tactics from weak & morally bankrupt government. This must be resisted!!!

The only thing i ever agreed with the Tory lot about was less interference from government & the separation of powers.
Then they pull this nonsense. A government whip no less

The Government has already distanced itself from his actions which they classed as misguided.
Contrast this with the reaction of the left which has called it McCarthyism. LaughLaughLaugh

Aye, typical Tory reaction. This hasn't gone down well, run away. Thoughtless bullies & cowards.
An absolute shambles of a government propped up with tax payers money channelled to the DUP. It's
a f***ing outrage

total fallacy and a lie to wrest control. How many Tory MP's didn't go to Uni? didn't seem to send them on a
marxist journey. If the majority of learned minds lean against rampant capitalism it might be worth listening to them

Frightening that Universities don't worry about the indoctrination of students by tutors with extreme views.
Can understand why the lefties would want this covered up.

always the mantra of the right, if you don't agree it must be indoctrination. if it wasn't so worrying it
would be laughable. Bullies & charlatans

Why would he be suspended. Laugh
He wrote a letter politely asking for some information.
No demands, no sending in of thugs like Momentum to force the issue and no recriminations if the answer was no.

The tutors handing out pro-remain leaflets instead of simply teaching their subject should be sacked and blacklisted from getting further work.

Defending the indefensible is another classic Tory trait. If you can't see how dangerous this behaviour is you
have no sense of freedom & democracy. I would feel exactly the same way if the far left were behaving like this.
Not left/right but right/wrong

But you are not worried that students may be prey to tutors with extreme views?
Donny running true to form and throwing in some cheap shots cos he's once again losing the argument.
You should try an anger management course Donny.

Who has extreme views? Do you have evidence? Like I mentioned, most Tory MP's are products of our universities.
Those extremists failed then?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5013379/Students-bring-12-hour-safe-space-marshals.html

A students' union pays for £12-per-hour 'safe space marshals' to police external speakers to make sure they do not voice views that are offensive to the audience.

King's College Students' Union requires marshals to attend events with a phone so they can take 'immediate action' if anyone expresses opinions thought to discriminate against ethnic or sexual minorities.

They monitor any speaker thought likely to perpetrate a 'safe space breach', which included Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg - who was watched by a total of three marshals at a talk last Wednesday.

BTW one of my economics lecturers was a total Tory & believed the free market would self regulate. He was open
to free and frank debate & I fundamentally disagreed with him and still do.
Should he have been sacked for putting forth his views?

On the above issue I think it is a disgrace that speakers are being vetted this way & a dangerous move.
All views should be heard and challenged. It is fascist behaviour otherwise.
That is a separate issue though so start another thread if you want.

Strange the left are going all out to denounce this story.

I think and hope most of the population know that higher education has been taken over by the left, or funded to do so.

That is simply false. You have been fed that lie and believed it.

two sides to every story"

it's all available online or printed. It's not a f***ing secret at a clandestine meeting. it's a freeking lecture.
This is why this is such nonsense but sinister nonsense.

I don't believe that, of course it is possible to get the broad outline, even if you pay at some universities you can sit in at a lecture...but what is taught on a daily basis is not known
