Cheers bled the radiators this morning and the pressure has dropped on the boiler to less than 0.5 bar, have opened the cold water valve to increase the pressure, can here the water flowing into the boiler but pressure gauge doesn't move, thx hop.

Done that kenbo off you youtube earlier gauge didn't move hence asking here, hoping its a faulty gauge.

i'm going to do mine now, it's a worcester combi boiler.
put the white "key" in and turn anti-clockwise. turn the GREY "knob" just to the right of the white key until you hear the water going in. (clockwise) keep going until between 1-2. don't worry if a tiny drop of water drops down. if you a bit nervous get a plumber. hth a bit. |

No prob kiw think i will end up getting one, it was just a long shot on someone in the know suggesting the faulty gauge which i could probably have a go at.

my gauge was going down because of air in the boiler, had a plumber round and he fixed it pretty quick.

If you've bled the rads, the system might require more water than you expect to move the gauge.
Especially if the gauge was reading okay before you bled. So you won't do any harm by letting in too much water,, it will simple blow out through the safety valve. If that happens then you'll know that the gauge is at fault. I take it that you haven't tried to start the boiler? |

All sorted thx doc put in loads more water which then blew from the pipe outside making me panic like feck. I phoned someone up they put in a new pressure release valve £10, charged me £30 for 15 mins work, gave him a £50, wife is over the moon might even get a bj tonight. Thx for everyone's input on the thread.

Sounds like you need a new pressure release valve OP, and what an apt name you have!
Sorry that I was late in here, but have to wonder if there may be something else wrong! You shouldn't have water leaking outside as it will be a sealed system. The only time this happens, is if there is a failure of the upper limit stat, so water can boil and overflow. Otherwise, a fractured diaphragm, in the pressure vessel! Wishing you good luck..... |
