Don't you keep glass items like bottles and jam jars separate from other recyclables?

I'm in Southwark, I've got two blue bins for recyclables, two green bins for general rubbish and one brown bin for garden stuff. I've never had a bin for foodstuffs. Leftover chicken, potato skins etc goes in the green bins and I've never had any stickers to say that wasn't OK with what I do.
Obviously different boroughs don't all have the same procedures as regards to recycling. |

NEVER put meat in recycled green bins or come to that, food waste bins.
Wrap up in newspaper and put it in the black bin. |

I'm in Bromley.
We have a green bin for recycling glass/plastic collected every other week. We have a black recycling bin for recycling paper collected every other week. Non recycling stuff is collected with the paper recycling. The recycled food bins are collected every week and you can put meat in them. |

How many bins do you have ?
We have 4, a blue bin for general rubbish, a brown bin for garden and food waste which must be in the special bag, a grey bin for paper and cardboard and a green bin for plastics and metals. |

Used to have 1 bin collected once a week. Now have 4 and a calendar on the fridge to remember which bin gets collected and when.
Usually once a fortnight now. This come in earlier this year. Never seen so many foxes walking around ever, Surely not just a coincidence. Tory cut backs |

With the non recycling being collected fortnightly we have the problem that the street bins are full up with domestic rubbish.
The bags then get ripped open by foxes and crows so we can all enjoy walking through our neighbours rubbish on the pavement. Seems people can't buy a dustbin or two and wait for the collection. |

Funny to see the different rules by different local authorities!
This is North Yorkshire...... Someone mentioned plastic with metal! We have three recycle boxes, in addition to one black bin for general waste (including food), and one green bin for garden waste. Boxes are metal and glass, plastic and one for paper. Schedules are boxes every two weeks, and bins every two weeks. |
