Why not once, even though not used, as you would be banged up for carrying a firearm,
or a switch bade or lock knife.....

We should concentrate on the rabid animals using these substances as weaponry, rather than the selling of the substance itself.

Well, much of the legislation come from 'The EU' who banned such products as 'Sodium Chlorate' (effective and inexpensive weed killer)
and the very effective dry insect spray by 'Raid', which brought down flies and wasps instantly, only to be replaced by the current wishy-washy
window messing, works eventually product!

We used to mix sodium chlorate and sugar as kids and light it, God knows how toxic the mushroom clouds were.

You can still get Ammonium Sulphamate but it is sold as a compost accelerator, just don't 'spill' any on your weeds as it would be illegal Wink

Thread drifting off  point with cancer causing pesticides/herbicides  ,if your house is full of insects and flies your doing summit wrong, there are hardly any insects  and flies left ,bees in terminal decline prob due to the new age pesticides which are used in conjunction with gen modified crops   But that's a diff thread ,agree in principle the one person misbehaves and the whole class gets punished is counter productive ,hit anyone throwing bad sh!t on anyone hard,a six month holiday after second time is too little too late ,laughable really

Anyone caught carrying acid for the purpose of attacking others would get 5 years if I were the judge and if they actually carried out an attack I'd give them 20 years.

A couple who faked holiday sickness to claim £20k compensation from Thomas Cook were jailed for two years (15 and 9 months).

Possibly but I think it highlights the leniency of the penalty for caarying acid

How? There is no mandatory minimum sentence for fraud and they are proposing one for carrying acid. How does that highlight the leniency in the sentencing for carrying acid?

Hope this doesn't mean I get done carrying my Xenomorph home if it gets tired after a walk.

Chances of any of the Newham and east end teams getting 6 months are a Million ,A load of Hogwash

Ok - you're right if the six months is a minimum. If that is the case, I look forward to seeing longer sentences handed down for people found guilty of carrying acid.

IMHO if you are throwing acid at a stranger you're pretty much a psyhcopath with no respect for humanity, very stiff sentences in very tough prisons, or just inject them with it..

The Mayor of Stan needs to step up  ,Most of the Attacks take place in London ,with the East end being main Area for attacks

No doubt Government Funds can be made available  for visits to Schools and communities  to explain that throwing acid at a

fellow human being is wrong ...

I myself would Suggest that the Perps heads were steeped into a Bucket of Acid so as they realise what they have done is wrong .

So someone caught carrying sulphuric acid in a lucozade bottle will just get a telling off first time , and the second time they will serve 6 weeks in jail ( as that's when the early release is triggered on a 6 month sentence ).

Surely 3 years for a first offence should be the starting point . Unless anyone has a legitimate reason for walking the streets carrying acid that is not in its original container.

Laughably of course the Tories were expecting to impress people with this as a 'get tough' crackdown.
