Cumberbatch is excellent in almost everything that he does. Amongst others, Amazing Grace, Hawking, The Imitation Game, Sherlock, Hamlet and now the Child In Time. Of course the neanderthals on here won't get it.

Just watched The Chikd In Time on iplayer. What a wonderful production.
Brilliantly written,filmed,directed and acted by all. Especially Cumberbatch, who was outstanding.
Ful of grief and despair,but also hope and love. It was heart rendering in places.
Excellent viewing, and unless you're really hard hearted - you'll be in tears at the end !!

PS. Cumberbatch is a great actor.....he has just been over-hyped a tad.
