Went about 5 years ago.Big mistake was arriving at lunchtime on a Saturday. There are about 20 huge marquees with inside and outside seating, but it took us 5 hours to find a seat, and then it was only because it started to rain.(You have to be seated to get a drink) No problems on a Sunday, or Monday Apart from that had a brilliant time and would recommend a visit.

Went about 25 years ago and would love to go again one year. I was advised to go to the Augustiner Marquee and although I have nothing to compare it with, it was pretty blooming brilliant.

When I was 19, me and a mate set out to hitchhike to Octoberfest, sleeping rough along the way. The novelty of sleeping in fields wears off pretty quickly, and while we made it to Germany, never got to Munich. Even if we had, we'd have been broke.

Dont bother with UK ones though. I had tickets for the one on the Isle of Dogs a couple of years ago, which was cancelled after 2 hours on police advice due to the complete incompetence of the organisers, where a mile long queue, lack of staff and fleeing security, nearly led to a riot. And I notice Chelmsford City Racecourse are having one. . Hope its better than their beerfest, where it took 1 hour to get served, and they run out of beer after the fourth race.

Malaysia looks to be on the path to fully abide by Islamic code (Sharia law) as it just cancelled the Better Beer Festival 2017 following protests from Islamists, including the Pan-Malaysian Islamic party (PAS). The sixth edition of the annual Better Beer Festival 2017 was set to take place in Kuala Lumpur in October, being probably inspired from Germany’s Oktoberfest (we can also expect Oktoberfest to be cancelled in the near future).
Feck me is anything safe anymore ?
