I'm watching season 2 of The Expanse on Netflix. Better than season 1, which rather meandered.

Not very new, but if you have not seen it, Gotham is good
|

Some of these are not particularly new but highly recommend Billions, The Americans, The Leftovers, Better Call Saul and The Affair.

I'm currently watching Mr. Mercedes (based on a fcked up hacker kid that stole a Mercedes to do a multiple drive through killing - the storyline's good as he taunts the old retired detective - who's playing a great role) Based on the first of a triology of novels by the genius Stephen King. I recommend reading these, they are wonderful ! |

Never understood the fuss about Stephen King. I read one of his books and it was badly written tedious nonsense.

Haven't seen anything of Ozark & can't seem to find it , but will put it on my next to watch list , what's it about
![]() I watched Narcos up until about episode 7 series 2 (when they stormed the house & they all escaped - Pablo was shot dead on the roof but then appears again next episode) just got very bored with it so never finished Mr.Mercedes is good stuff Facts , Brady's just so twisted it makes him very amusing ![]() I actually thought it was the same guy from Mr Robot but are 2 different actors! |

The Americans,
Not new as you say , but the best programme on TV by a country mile imo. |

Apparently Stephen King had a serious cocaine and alcohol addiction, which explains why some of his books were complete carp.

Loved King as a teenager but quickly "grew out" of him, by which I thought his books were a bit silly and I maybe was a bit embarassed to be seen reading them. Bit odd really looking back.
Heard a recommendation for and then read his autobiography/writing tips manual On Writing which was very good. Then got the bug and remembered that the two books of his I really loved were The Stand and Tommyknockers. The Stand's about 900 pages so I've found the latter in a charity shop and am ploughing through it again. And it is very, very good to be fair. I think his writing is actually top notch. Don't (and never have) got the criticism of his penmanship. It's just that he's a genre writer and that genre can be a bit silly sometimes. |

I caught something on Thursday called simply "Ambulance".
Never heard of it before but it was certainly an eye opener! When I was hospitalised three weeks ago, an ambulance was requested @ 21:30, to take me to another hospital for a scan and, at almost 01:00 the following day it still hadn't arrived. I discharged myself and signed the waiver of responsibility and we drove there instead. We had been told it had been known to be as long as twelve hours! On the programme, there must have been over a dozen controllers, and forty seven ambulances in the region. One ambulance had a massive crash, right in front of them, and there were at least three casualties, so they called for another two, but there were none available! What they will do, is cancel an existing low level injury, and re-asign to a more serious injury. One did just that, as they got a call from what sounded like a young girl, saying her mum was on the floor, and not breathing, It was a hoax!!!!! |

as much as we all sympathize with such a classy old bird you really need to start watching better television (maybe not even through a television) and learn to appreciate the Law of Attraction (as one thinks he shall receive) trust me i've had much worse happened but do i fiend off it watching The Bill repeats from 1999 ![]() this thread is also not about Books (no Bookends allowed) we more advanced types just do not have enough time left, so please just sit back with a Pimms in one hand , a Lager in the other & enjoy the shows ![]() |

Have started watching this Mr Mercedes. First series I found really good. Second is okay but lost it a bit for my liking. Back to form so far with the third series. Brendan Gleeson always good value imo and this is well worth a watch. On Amazon prime.

Homeland is exceptional

Not my regular bag but I found "Normal People" to be thoroughly charming. On Iplayer.

Enjoying Cardinal on i player
Something weird about Stephen King in that I could blind watch any adaption of his and somehow tell you it's a Stephen King story. And I can't put my finger on why, they just have this undefineable "feel" about them. |

Sex Education is a brilliant series.
